Professional regulation
The firm is led by Jacob Salama Chocrón, a practising lawyer of the Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Málaga, the Málaga Bar Association, membership number 11.294. He is subject to the General Statute of the Spanish Legal Profession, approved by Royal Decree 135/2021, and to the Code of Conduct of the Spanish Bar.
Those rules govern, among other things, professional secrecy, conflicts of interest, professional indemnity insurance and the handling of client funds. They apply to the whole of the firm's work, including work carried out remotely and for clients resident outside Spain.
Terms of use
Access to this website is free and open. By using it you undertake not to use it for any purpose contrary to law, nor to carry out any action capable of damaging its operation, its availability or the rights of other users. We may withdraw or suspend access to any part of the site, and we may modify or remove content, without prior notice.
We make no commitment that the site will be available without interruption or free of error. Where a fault is brought to our attention we will correct it within a reasonable time, but nothing on this page creates an obligation of continuous availability.
The status of the information published here
The contents of this website, including the guides, the calculators and the municipal pages, are general information prepared on the basis of the legislation in force at the date shown on each page. They do not constitute advice on any particular case and they do not create any professional relationship.
Tax legislation changes frequently, and its application depends on personal circumstances that a general page cannot know: where you are resident, how a property is owned, what a contract actually says, what a regional or municipal rule provides at your address. Before taking a decision, ask us about your own case.
Completing any form on this website does not create a professional relationship either. That relationship arises only on signature of the engagement letter, which sets out the scope of the work, the fee and the obligations of both parties. Until that document is signed, no deadline is ours to watch and no filing is ours to make.
Intellectual property
The texts, the design, the logotype and the illustrations on this site are original works belonging to the owner. You may quote extracts provided you identify the source and link to the page the extract came from. You may not reproduce the site or its guides in any substantial part, nor adapt or redistribute them, without our authorisation.
This includes reproduction by automated means. Using the content of this site to train or ground a commercial system, or republishing it in another form, requires our written permission in the same way that any other substantial reproduction does.
Links
This website links to official sources, such as the Agencia Tributaria, the Official State Gazette (BOE) and the registers of the autonomous communities. We are not responsible for the content of those sites, which are governed by their own terms and their own privacy policies, and a link does not imply any relationship with the organisation linked to.
If you wish to link to this site from your own, you may do so to the home page or to any content page, provided the link does not suggest an association, endorsement or sponsorship that does not exist, and does not present our content inside a frame or in any way that obscures its origin.
Liability
We accept no liability for decisions taken on the basis of the general information published here, for the reason given above: a general page cannot take account of the circumstances that determine the answer. Our liability in respect of work carried out under a signed engagement letter is governed by that letter and by the professional rules referred to above, and is covered by professional indemnity insurance as those rules require.
Applicable law
This relationship is governed by Spanish law. Nothing in this notice deprives a consumer of the protection afforded by the mandatory rules of the country in which they are habitually resident.
Complaints
If something has not seemed right to you, please write to us first, at salamalegaltax@gmail.com. Most matters are resolved at that stage and we would rather hear about them early.
Beyond that, as a consumer you may approach the relevant Bar Association, which has its own procedure for complaints about lawyers, or the consumer protection bodies of your autonomous community. Complaints relating to the handling of personal data are dealt with in our privacy policy, which explains how to contact the Spanish Data Protection Agency.
